How does bundling effect the price of my insurance.

Image
Progressive Insurance offered a look last fall at whom they are targeting with their advertising dollars. They called them the “Robinsons”. As an independent insurance agency, we keep an eye out for changes in the marketplace to see how we can improve our products in our community.  The Robinsons are a segment of the marketplace that includes households who own a home and car and place the insurance with the same insurer as a bundle. They represent the ideal customer for the big insurance company. They have the highest retention of 53% and the longest retention with 45% having been with their insurance provider 11 years or more. These are the customers that are highly sought after by big insurance companies and see some (but not all) discounts.  Robinsons are important to big insurance. There are a couple of force s that are driving this ideal group to shop: 1. Record high numbers of serious collisions.  2. Skyrocketing used vehicle valuations with inflated repair costs.  3. In

How to get cheap insurance for my teen driver?

Image
Getting cheap insurance for a teenage driver can be tricky, as younger drivers are considered higher risk by insurance companies. Seriously, we have a high school driver in our household and from driver’s education, the new rules through getting the new insurance increase, the experience is while. However, there are a few steps you can take to try and lower your premiums:   Shop around: Different insurance companies offer different rates, so it's important to compare quotes from multiple insurance companies before deciding. We brought our policies in-house and shopped at six different companies at Wenatchee Insurance . Our household’s insurance was with a single company.   We knew we needed more shopping power without going to half a dozen different agencies.  Shop Wenatchee Insurance 's exchange.  Consider adding your teen driver to your existing policy depending on the company. Some companies are set up better for older drivers. Yes, you want all the household’s dri

Do you write SR 22 in Wenatchee?

Image
We can get you an SR 22   We write SR 22s on a regular basis for clients all over North Central Washington. We understand that moments can get away from the best of us. An SR 22 judgement is not the end of the world. An SR-22 is a certificate of insurance that Washington State requires from drivers who have been convicted of certain driving offenses, such as driving under the influence (DUI) or driving without insurance. The SR-22 is not an insurance policy itself, but rather a document that proves you have the required insurance coverage. When a driver is required to have an SR-22, your insurance company will file the form with the state on your behalf. The SR-22 is typically required for a period of three years, during which time the driver must maintain the required insurance coverage. If the driver cancels their insurance during this time or if the insurance company cancels the policy, the insurance company is required to notify the state, and the driver's license may be suspe

How to lower my car insurance cost?

Image
There are several ways to lower your car insurance costs: Shop around: Compare car insurance quotes from several different insurance companies to find the best deal. We built Wenatchee Insurance Agency to offer multiple companies. Not every company has been successful in keeping up over the last couple of years of changes.  Consider a higher deductible: A higher deductible means that you'll pay more out of pocket in the event of a claim, but your monthly premium will be lower. A key question is how much do you want to pay out of pocket before the insurance company starts paying. If the car is paid off do not automatically drop comprehensive and collision coverages if you can not pay out of pocket to repair them. Maintain a good driving record: A good driving record can help lower your insurance costs. Avoid tickets, accidents, and DUI convictions. Take a defensive driving course: Some insurance companies offer discounts to drivers who take defensive driving courses. Bundle your po

Not all auto insurance is the same, for example let's look at Van Life

Image
Van Life can be rewarding. Living in a van may change your car insurance needs, as your van will likely be considered a primary residence rather than just a vehicle. This means that you will likely need to purchase additional coverage, such as liability insurance and comprehensive coverage, to protect yourself and your property while you are living in the van. Additionally, you may need to notify your insurance company of your change in living situation, as it may affect your coverage and premiums.  If you have questions then let us know.   If you haven't seen some of these homes on wheels and the work that goes into them then check this out:  Van living can require modifying your vehicle. Aftermarket parts, also known as non-original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts, are not covered by car insurance in the same way as original parts. In general, car insurance policies will only cover the cost of repairing or replacing a damaged part with an OEM part, rather than an aftermarket p
