How to lower my car insurance cost?

There are several ways to lower your car insurance costs:

  • Shop around: Compare car insurance quotes from several different insurance companies to find the best deal. We built Wenatchee Insurance Agency to offer multiple companies. Not every company has been successful in keeping up over the last couple of years of changes.

  • Consider a higher deductible: A higher deductible means that you'll pay more out of pocket in the event of a claim, but your monthly premium will be lower. A key question is how much do you want to pay out of pocket before the insurance company starts paying. If the car is paid off do not automatically drop comprehensive and collision coverages if you can not pay out of pocket to repair them.

  • Maintain a good driving record: A good driving record can help lower your insurance costs. Avoid tickets, accidents, and DUI convictions.

  • Take a defensive driving course: Some insurance companies offer discounts to drivers who take defensive driving courses. Bundle your policies: Consider bundling your car insurance with other policies, such as home, to get a multi-policy discount.

  • Choose the right car: The type of car you drive can affect your insurance costs. Cars that are more expensive to repair or are more likely to be stolen will cost more to insure. Yes, inflation and supply chain problems are making car repairs tough.

  • Telematics can save young drivers money.
Ask about discounts: Ask your insurance company about any discounts you may be eligible for, such as a safe driver discount, a multi-car discount, or a good student discount. It is critical to have a conversation with an agent to get access to some of these discounts. If the agent is not asking you questions then how do they know what discounts that you qualify for?

  • Use technology: Some insurance companies offer discounts to customers who use telematics devices or smartphone apps to monitor their driving. This was a surprising factor that we used the first month to save money with a family with an under 18 driver in the household.

It's important to keep in mind that while cost is an important factor, it's also important to make sure you have adequate coverage to protect you in the event of an accident or other covered event. We built our agency because of the rising insurance cost and service issues in North Central Washington.

If you are ready to meet the team grab an appointment and we will be glad to get to work.
